Overview:
This story is about Morisato Keiichi, a college student in the Nekomi Institute of Technology (NIT for short), who accidently calls the Relief Goddess Office while ordering a takeout, and summons Belldandy. Belldandy grants him one wish and Keiichi, thinking that this was one of his Senpai's practical jokes, wishes for a girl like her to stay with him forever. To Keiichi's surprise, it was for real, and Belldandy has to stay with him forever. This gets Keiichi kicked out of the dorm, which doesn't allow women. So, Keiichi and Belldandy goes off to search for a place to stay, and eventually end up in an old temple where they begin their new lives together.

One day, Hanabishi Kaoru, second year university student, came across a young woman in a kimono who seemed distressed. She was searching for a certain person whom she had not met in years. While she had an address, this was only her first time in the city. Kaoru decided to offer his assistance. However, the address she had led them to an empty plot of land.

Kaoru brought the distraught woman to his home where she presented him with a childhood photograph of herself and the person whom she was searching for, the only remaining clue she possessed. Remarkably enough, he recognised himself in the photograph. It turns out that she was Sakuraba Aoi, sole heir to the wealthy Sakuraba family. She had been matchmade with Kaoru and had spent 18 years preparing for this. However, when Kaoru left the Hanabishi, he was disowned by the family and the engagement annulled. She came to entreat him to return to the Hanabishi. How will Kaoru reconcile his feelings for Aoi with the reasons that drove him away from the Hanabishi?

Meanwhile, a suspicious looking guy named Otoya Hideyuki appears and, surprisingly, tries to kiss Kakeru. He is accompanied by his secretary, Kizaki Airin, and introduces himself as an official from the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry.

Pricilla, a member of the punitive group, couldn't control the power of the magical sword, and turned into an "Awakened". Then, Theresa was beaten by the large power of Pricilla. To avenge Theresa, Claire decided to inherit Theresa's flesh to become Claymore.

One year ago, an alien spaceship crashed in Tokyo Bay. As they were unable to go home, the aliens received Japanese citizenship. They were called DearS, meaning "Dear Friends." In order to study the Japanese language and customs, a homestay system was established.

One day, high school student Ikuhara Takeya encounters a DearS girl wearing nothing but a blanket. Due to hunger, she collapses on the street. Much to his embarrassment, he has no choice but to bring this alien, whom he later names Ren, to stay the night in his apartment. She insists on staying, referring to Takeya as "Master". Ren learns Japanese overnight due to her race's high intelligence and linguistic abilities and the help of Neneko, Takeya's childhood friend and daughter of the apartment manager.

Later, Ren goes on to attend Takeya's school, where she is mistaken for another DearS exchange student. However, trouble occurs when the real exchange student, Miu, appears.

It is said that the Holy Grail grants wishes to he who wields it. To materialise the Holy Grail, a ritual is about to be held. The Holy Grail will choose seven wizards (masters) and give them seven familiar spirits (servants).

Saber, Lancer, Archer, Rider, Caster, Assassin, and Berserker.

The master contracts with one of seven familiar spirits that plays one of the above roles (classes). The master must prove that he is qualified to have the Holy Grail, meaning that he must eliminate other masters to show he is the strongest. This ritual is called "The Holy Grail War".

The story takes place in Fuyuki City. It is a city surrounded by the sea and mountains. In this common city, a shadow encroaches.

The main character had lost his parents in a fire when he was a child. He was adopted by a person who called himself a wizard. Disobeying his father-in-law, the main character has studied magic. However, because he lacked talent, he could obtain only one magic spell despite several years' training.

One day, the main character is accidently involved in a fight between two opposing masters. As he is dying, a girl suddenly appears and saves him.

"...Now, I ask you. Are you my master?"

He contracts with one of the seven servants, Saber. Willingly or not, he becomes a master, and plunges into a war over the Holy Grail...

In this world, there exists people with special abilities to manipulate objects and transform one object into another. These people are known as alchemists. This process does come with a cost though, the basic law of alchemy states that to gain something you have to sacrifice something of the same value.

The main character is the famous alchemist Edward Elric - also known as the Fullmetal Alchemist - who almost lost his little brother, Alphonse, in an accident. Edward managed to contain his brother's soul in a large suit of armor. While he did manage to save his brother's life, he had to pay a great price himself.

To get back what they've lost, the brothers embark on a journey to find the Philosophers Stone that is said to amplify the powers of an alchemist enormously.

Two brothers lose their mother to an incurable disease. With the power of "alchemy", they use taboo knowledge to resurrect her. The process fails, and as a toll for using this type of alchemy, the older brother, Edward Elric loses his left leg while the younger brother, Alphonse Elric loses his entire body. To save his brother, Edward sacrifices his right arm and is able to affix his brother's soul to a suit of armor. With the help of a family friend, Edward receives metal limbs - "automail" - to replace his lost ones. With that, Edward vows to search for the Philosopher's Stone to return the brothers to their original bodies, even if it means becoming a "State Alchemist", one who uses his/her alchemy for the military.

At his new school, he meets several new girls, though three of whom he gets to know the most out of anyone else. They are, the firm and obstinate Hayami Kohinata, the kind and obliging Hinata Kagura, and the cheerful and mysterious Otoha. As Takuma interacts with these girls, his medical condition gradually begins to heal.

The story revolves around a network game called "The World." It takes place four years after the "Twilight" incident chronicled in the PS2 game which shook not only the game world, but the real world as well.

CyberConnect Corporation (CC Corporation), the creator and operator of The World, held a "Limited Edition Character" campaign for The World players and its participants. The prize of the campaign was the Limited Edition Characters: the legendary "Kite" and "Black Rose" from the ".hackers" avatar that was prohibited after the Twilight incident.

A pair of twins in 2nd year junior high, Shuugo (the elder brother), and Rena (the younger sister), successfully obtained the Legendary Characters from the campaign. Shuugo, who wanted to quit playing the network game, once again set foot into The World under his sister's invitation.

In the game world, Shuugo and Rena met two other players, Mileyu and Houka, and they quickly became close friends after several events and encounters. However, the seemingly peaceful game world began to experience many weird changes which resembled that which occurred during the incident four years ago. This time, Shuugo, Rena, and their new friends are caught up in it...

In the year 2005, a computer virus called 'Pluto's Kiss' completely shuts down the global internet network.

In 2007, after extensive restructuring of the network, an online network game (MMORPG) called 'The World' is created and released.

Tsukasa, one of the game's players, suddenly awakens to find himself in 'The World,' able to feel, smell, touch, see and hear everything as if he was really there.

Almost immediately, he is approached by an in-game 'justice' organization, the Scarlet Knights, who try to capture him because they suspect that he has been working with hackers due to the tweaked character he was seen with.

His attempts to logout fail and he is stuck in 'The World.'

Unable to remember what happened before he awoke, he wanders around aimlessly. While doing so, Tsukasa finds a magical item that grants him the power to use a fearful 'Guardian' that will protect him from danger. Incidentally, this Guardian is capable of causing real world harm to other gamers.

To make matters worse, one day, he sees Tenma and Karasumaru having lunch together. This causes him to skip school and embark on a journey of enlightenment.
